Sex and Purity

I am going to a christian store to buy me a purity ring that says true love waits.I learned that It is a promise to god to to not have sex before you get married.I want to be married when I have sex.I want to be married to a man of god.I want my first time to be special and sacred.It's ashamed that the world has made sex a joke aganist god.God is not pleased with the people who have made a joke of sex.

I agree, Paris. I also have a purity ring that I wear every day. =] It symbolizes to me the promise that I've made before God to save myself for my future husband. And not only physically, but also emotionally. It's a great reminder, especially when I feel like compromising at times.

Yep, I have one too...well, actually, two. Because one split...idk how, but it did...the other one is splitting now too!! I guess since they were cheap-ish...so I'm hoping to get a better one. I also have a marriage ring (to Jesus! Its in Hebrew and its amazing!!) and then I have a Rite of Passage ring as well. Smile

Ohh that's so cool you have a marriage ring to Jesus. What a cool idea... That's actually one of the things my purity ring symbolizes to me. =] And I've actually never heard of a Rite of Passage ring. What's the idea behind those?

A Rite of Passage basically clears up the confusion of when a teenager is really an adult. Most religions have a Rite of Passage for their teenagers, once they reach a certain age. (Christianity usually does not) Teens that took part in this particular Rite of Passage could be anywhere between 13 and 23 years old. You could take part in it whenever you and your parents thought you were ready or when God revealed to both you and them that it was time. Your parents, in the ceremony, speak blessings over you and into your future life. In Biblical times, when parents blessed their children, every blessing spoken into them came to pass eventually during their lives. This shows how God designed blessings to be an important part in establishing a family’s heritage and influencing the lives of generations to come. Parental Blessings are very powerful and play a very important role in the lives of the children in which they are bestowed upon. The Rite of Passage not only indicates a teen’s transition into adulthood, but also imparts words of life into their future. So, we got the ring to remind us of our pass into spiritual adulthood. Does that all make sense? Smile

Ohh, yeah now that you explain it, I remember what a Rite of Passage is. I should know, I took a world religions class. Wink

Yeah, that all makes sense. Thanks for explaining it to me, I've actually never heard of having a ring to symbolize it.

Yep! No problem! Thats what I wrote my essay on. (the first one, at the beginning of the year)
But yeah, I don't think that a ring is given in a regular Rite Of Passage, but we got one for ours, because we were having a Jewish conference that same weekend, and so the church decided to get us all rings. Smile

Hi guys,
yes, I have a purity ring too. It says True love waits and I love it. Sometimes when temptations come into my life or I am feeling not like everyone else. I look down at it and it reminds me that God has something better for me in store. If I want him to give me the perfect person for me who is also pure emotionally, physically, and spiritually I need to hold to my end of the deal up too. Smile

It will all be worth it in the end.

I pretty much wear my ring all the time, and so whenever I feel like compromising emotionally or whenever I'm around girls who are talking about their boyfriends and what they're "doing" with them, my ring reminds me of the promise that I've made to God and to my future husband to save myself physically and emotionally for him. It's a comforting reminder to know that all this waiting will pay off someday if it's God's will. Smile

yweah i meen staying pure till marage meens nothing now to the world. and people make it out like u have to have sex or u have to look at porn and thats not true at all!!

Well.....Actually, I've met quite a few people that do not follow God, but they still have set standards for themselves and their future spouse. They have good morals and character too, they just aren't following God. Which is really sad. Sad
