What do you guyys think about Religious Tolerance??? I knoww lots of people think that our "religon" is only one way... And that different religons can work too... I know that many people don't want to say that others are wrong in what they believe... Would you guys tell someone to their face that everything they believe is wrong and they could go to hell because of it??? I don't know if you guys have ever thought about this, but i have seen it more and more that people want everyone to be "ok" with all religons... and that there is different ways and all you have to do is choose one... Anyways, I hope you guys get what I'm trying to say... Let me know what you guys think!

Hey David,
I believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven. I believe that if you don't accept Jesus into your heart as your personal savior you will not be saved. While other religions do worship Jesus, th Bible is pretty clear on the way we get to heaven and the way we should worship Him. I care about people and would never want to hurt their feelings, but I care about them enough to let them know, Jesus is the only way. I think faith is one of the things you need to be totally honest about because it's my responsibility to make sure my friends and family know about salvation and the grace and forgiveness in faith.

Jesus is the only way.
And no, I probably wouldn't "tell someone to their face that everything they believe is wrong and they could go to hell because of it", because thats not my place, imo. My place is to SHOW them Jesus' LOVE. Thats it. If they ask questions, I'll be honest and truthful, but only if they sincerely want to know and aren't just interested in starting an argument [aka debate Razz Not saying all debating is wrong though, so no need to take that out of context anyone.]. Otherwise, I'll leave that up to God. He'll show them in His timing, and His timing is always perfect, even if it may not seem like it.
That make sense?

good thoughts guys! I know many people think its not loving to tell someone that they are wrong... when i say Religous Tolerance i'm mostly talking about people that don't believe in Jesus... Or believe you can get to him by works and not by faith... Which the bible tells us isn't true! When i say "tolerance" to put up with, or enduring. That would be like if i were talking to someone about Jesus. They said they thought the only way to get to Jesus is by doing good things... I said it was by faith that we are saved, and nothing we can do will save us, besides believeing in christ and what he did for us! The idea of tolerance would be for me to say that what they believe is "ok" and that it can work for them if they believe it... and what i believe is ok too if i believe it with my whole heart... or even for people that don't believe in God, its the idea that everyone is right as long as they believe it... ok... I'm talking to much i think... anyways... hope you all understand Smile I would love to hear more thoughts!!!

There is only one way to the Father, and that is through Jesus.
I wouldn't tell someone to their face that they're going to hell because of what they believe - it isn't in my place to judge, like Karah said. But it is in my place to tell others of the one and only way to the Father. And that's through believing in and following Jesus.
I believe that you should tolerate other people's religions, as in don't condemn or judge them because they believe differently than you do. But I do not believe that there are many different paths to Jesus. There is only one way.
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
John 14:6
I also believe that it is in my place to tell others about Jesus and even to prove them wrong by using God's Word.
"Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction."
2 Timothy 4:2
Sometimes God uses us to rebuke others - in love, of course. But if no one tells them that they are wrong, how will they ever know to turn from it? We are called to do that.

Aw thanks Karah and Emily. Smile
I'm not sure if it's so much words as it is writing... because if I would try to say all that in person, I'd probably get tongue-tied. I'm not a very good speaker, like in front of a bunch of people. But I do love to write. =]

One more question... People say its unloving to say someone else is wrong... and We as christians need to be loving to others... Where do you draw the line? Because if someone doesn't tell them they are wrong they could very well die and go to hell forever! What do you guys think... do you tell them they are wrong... or just hope they find christ some day... I say is as if you were talking to someone that you don't really know and you might not see again... I know that things do change a bit if you see the person every single day... Anyways, just wanted to see what you guys think!

Well, that's hard because even if it may be considered unloving to tell them that they are wrong, it's also unloving to NOT tell them and then allow them to continue to walk in their wrong ways. Who knows? They could accept what you say and eventually thank you for it. Or they could reject it. I guess it all depends on the situation AND the person. Some people are so hard hearted that you really shouldn't tell them that they are wrong, because that will just cause them to rebel and continue in their ways even more. Some people would listen to you, but not change their ways. And then there are those who will listen to you and accept what you have to say. I think before you speak you should pray about it. God will lead you... but sometimes as Christians, we will step on people's toes. Jesus did. God's Word does. Sometimes you have to, because that's the only way some people will think about what they're doing and change their lives.

I agree with you completely! There are times when you have to tell someone... Though they might not like... Atleast they know about it... Our job is to tell people about christ and what he did! It's up to them to believe it or not... but yea, the Lord is the one that saves them, not us!

Exactly! God has called us to tell others - not save them. We can't save anyone. God does the saving, He just call us to do the sharing.

I voted that you should have religious tolerance. Who ever said you were right? I say you need to learn as much as you can about other religions and make up your own mind on what to believe, don't just take what is handed to you. The bible is not wrong, but biased, as is the Koran, or the Talmut. You need to get a all around view.
